The year is already moving at a rapid pace, before the year takes on more shape and we get deeper into 2024, I wanted to share with you some perspectives about Time. And the role it plays when it comes to your 2024 success.
Although we all indeed have 24 hours to work with, it is also true that we exist in different environments with varying responsibilities and competing priorities. When we look at this at the micro level, we can see that we either have more TIME, less TIME, or no TIME.
The challenge is this: many of you reading this blog are Driven and have a high sense of ACHIEVEMENT. Which is great because it is what has brought you to this point in your life.
But when it comes to TIME and getting to accomplish all the things we need to, we can face quite a dilemma.
So, here are some thoughts I will leave you with.
First, ask yourself, what is the one INTENTION or GOAL that, if I only achieved it, would make me feel wholesome and satisfied?
Wherever your attention is, your energy follows, action follows and that, my friend, is TIME.
Where and WHAT have your attention been focused the most this past week? (Besides PRODUCTIVE work)?
Was it focused on politics?
Was it focused on what someone else was doing?
Was it focused on the behaviour of someone else?
Was it focused on Netflix?
If it was not focused on making money, building your skills, taking care of yourself and your responsibilities or taking action on your January Intentions and goals.
You have been wasting your time. And you need to reevaluate!
And lastly, the reason why identity shifting is so important is that it helps you gain more understanding and clarity on what matters in getting to where you want and the things you want.
So my last question is, HOW would the 2024 version of you be spending their TIME?
My friend, the answers exist within you. Only you know those habits that do not serve you. And if you do not get incredibly selfish and borderline obsessive with your TIME, including WHO in your life has access to your TIME and WHAT you spend your TIME doing, then you will not move the needle.
Yes, I know it’s a bit deep for February, but I want you to start thinking about TIME in those terms. The truth is, unless you are incredibly wealthy and can outsource many tasks like cooking, cleaning your house, getting your car washed, and grocery shopping, you will have to MANAGE your TIME by being SUPER SELECTIVE of how you spend it.
I truly hope this helps you assess and re-evaluate your lifestyle, choices and the identity of the Influential Leader you are on your way to becoming.
